Coaching Camps

Join Gary at a coaching camp.......

Ridley/Smith Coaching Camps

"I learnt so much from both you and David, and have put much of it into practice. I can now tell you I am a better golfer as a result of coming to the camp. I came to you as a mid handicapper, but I feel the way Im going, I don’t think it is unreasonable to say I could get a single figure handicap. So once again, thank you both for an excellent camp. The only downside is that I have bored a few mates with tales of “ At the camp we did it like this etc etc……”

Golf Monthly Top 25 Coaches, Gary Smith and David Ridley give golfers a superb opportunity to take their games to the next level and beyond, by holding Ridley/Smith residential coaching camps.

David Ridley is the Lead Coach of the EGU England Men’s Squad, personal coach to numerous tour players, both men and women, and steered Greg Owen to international success, both in the US and Europe. Greg won the British Masters Championship in 2003. Gary is well known as one of the best short game coaches in the UK. He has been an EGU England Men’s Coach for the past 13 years and works with numerous counties including Gloucester and Glamorgan. He is an England Women’s Super Birdie Coach and has coached European Tour players to wins including, The Scottish, Italian and Portuguese Opens.

Gary and David have over 30 years experience as national EGU coaches. During this time they have coached numerous players, such as Justin Rose, Ollie Fisher, Oliver Wilson, Richard Finch, Ross Fisher, Chris Wood and many more, through from being good amateurs to success on professional tours around the world. All aspects of the game will be covered, with David focusing on long game and Gary specialising around the greens and bunker play.

David identifies weaknesses in your swing technique and gives clear practice drills to fast track improvements. Gary demonstrates and coaches the very latest short game skills which make short game simple and will build confidence. They discuss the importance of physical fitness and flexibility, diet and goal planning and ensure everyone improves and has fun.

So far the Camps have been held at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire, voted the 18th best course in the world by Golf Monthly, with truly world class practice facilities, the latest computer analysis systems and purpose built conference room. According to Gary, Woodhall has one of the finest short game practice areas to be found anywhere. "The Camp is ideal for all standards and ages of golfer. The Camps we have run have had a complete mix of both and were successful because of it. They can make the Camp as intense as they wish to." Gary said.

Plans are being finalised for Ridley/Smith Coaching Camps in 2010 both in the UK and abroad, so if you want access to world class coaching from coaches who are highly respected in the game, ring Gary on 07798 623008 and watch this page for details
